So, sorry about the complete lack of updates. We were on a cruise for 9 nights and had no internet. I mean, there was internet, but I’ll be damned if I’m paying $0.75 a minute for it. So anyway, there was no internet. It was the first time I’d been on a cruise. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. I know cruises are old news to pretty much everyone now, but I felt like I was living in the past in a fantasy about living in the future. It was amazing. It was like being on a blimp. The food ranged from mediocre to pretty good, but the real entertainment is in the logistics. 4000 guests, about 2500 crew. They serve 18000 meals a day. that’s 180000 in ten days. That’s the greatest example of capitalistic excess I can think of. It was gastric. And where the hell does all that poop go??? I bet that’s why they call it the Black Sea. And 10 days of shitty cruise food will turn your poop black, believe you me. The cruise [1] went to a bunch of cities in the Baltics: Rostock, Germany [2]; Tallinn, Estonia [3]; St. Petersburg, Russia [4 and 5]; Helsinki, Finland [6] and Stockholm, Sweden [7]. I’d like to say you’ll read about them, but who are we kidding? I’ll barely phone it in and you’re just clicking through to the pictures anyway. Either way, good to be back on land.
Lots of love,
Shefali and Vijay
